Chocolate chip cookies done right: Baked extra soft and with extra chocolate
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening (butter flavored)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips (or chunks if you prefer)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine flour, soda, & salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together shortening, sugars, and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time.
Gradually add dry ingredients through sifting technique. Mix well.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Space approximately 2 inches apart.
Bake for 8-10 minutes (8 minutes if you prefer soft cookies). Remove from cookie sheet immediately to cool (on cooling rack).
OPTIONAL: If desired, sprinkle top of cookies with sea salt.
